Detectives from Nassau County Police Department's Narcotics/Vice Bureau recently reported three arrests for the criminal sale and criminal possession of a controlled substance that occurred in Plainview on at 8:15 p.m.
Detectives were present at a home on Eldorado Boulevard to execute a search warrant based on numerous complaints from neighbors regarding the criminal sale and possession of controlled substances.
Prior to the execution of the warrant, a 70-year-old West Babylon man arrived with his 9-year-old son to purchase a substance believed to be cocaine. At this time, a 43-year-old Plainview man exited his Eldorado Boulevard home with his 3-year-old daughter on his shoulders and met the West Babylon man on South Oyster Bay Road to consummate the sale. Both men were placed under arrest. Detectives then executed the warrant and as a result placed the Plainview man's 37-year-old wife under arrest.
Detectives seized $4,510 in United States currency and a 2000 Dodge mini-van as well as cocaine and heroine.
The Juvenile Aid Bureau and Child Protective Services were notified and are investigating. The homeowners' children were placed in the custody of an aunt.
The Plainview woman is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance - 3rd degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance - 4th degree and endangering the welfare of a child. The Plainview man is charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance - 3rd degree, two counts of criminal sale of controlled substance - 3rd degree and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance - 4th degree. The West Babylon man was charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance - 3rd degree, one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance - 3rd degree and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance - 4th degree. Additional charges will be presented to a grand jury at a future date.
All defendants were arraigned at First District Court, Hempstead on July 30. Due to officer safety, the names of the narcotics detectives were not released.
