The article about the incident involving Frank Sammartano (TOB Employee Resigns) failed to tell readers some important facts. The facts omitted were how Frank Sammartano has served the communities of Jericho, Syosset and Woodbury for many years. Frank has served as president of the White Birch/Old Jericho Civic Association. He was a founder and served as president of the Jericho Educational Foundation and he is the founder of the Jericho Lacrosse Club. Frank also serves as commissioner of the Syosset Football and Cheerleading League. For all of these positions he has served as a volunteer.
Whenever there is a community event, occasion or the need for help, Frank is ready, willing and able to help. He has dedicated hundreds of hours to the betterment of the community. The same can be said for his service as a TOB employee. In my conversations with TOB council members, they have always expressed appreciation of the efforts Frank made to assist them with constituent services.
Frank Sammartano has devoted his life to the community and to the children of Jericho, Syosset and Woodbury. A person who has given so much of himself to his community and especially to the children deserves the benefit of the doubt, and deserves not to be judged harshly.
I'm proud to call Frank Sammartano my friend and will stand by him through these bad times.
