Dawn Michelle Eichen, co-valedictorian of the Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School, began high school as powerfully as she finished it. Eichen has been a prominent voice within the student body beginning as public relations secretary of the ninth grade. Eichen's peers look to her as a trusted leader, knowing their voices are heard. She views her involvement in the school's extracurricular program as a vital component to her high school program. She was elected president of the French National Honor Society and Secretariat member of METMUNC, the school's foremost intellectual activity. Her participation in the National Honor Society has been noteworthy as well and this year she made her mark with her election as president of the Club Council. FULL STORY

The Plainview-Old Bethpage Chamber of Commerce held their monthly meeting on June 17 at Chestnut Grove in Plainview. The meeting, originally scheduled for June 18, was moved to allow the economic development team from County Executive Thomas Suozzi's office to attend and discuss the future vision for Plainview and Old Bethpage.
