Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto and Councilman Chris J. Coschignano joined the Sapolsky family during the renaming ceremony of the Joyce Lane parklet in Woodbury to the "Howard Sapolsky Memorial Park."

Sapolsky, a resident of Woodbury who enjoyed basketball games with community friends at the Joyce Lane parklet and founded the adult basketball team the "Woodbury Warriors," died of colon cancer and the town has dedicated the parklet in his honor.
