As a Plainview resident and this year's co-race director, I would like to invite Plainview runners and walkers to the 15th annual Ho Ho Ho Holiday Run. This year's event will be held at Bethpage High School, Dec. 21, starting at 9:30 a.m. This is the last and biggest running event of the year organized by the Greater Long Island Running Club. We are pleased to announce that Vitamin World will once again be the major sponsor of the race. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Maurer Foundation for its Breast Health Education Program and other local charities.

Race entrants are also encouraged to bring a toy to this event. Toys are distributed to local children in need. Last year almost 500 toys were donated to St. Mary's Children and Family Services of Syosset for their annual Holiday Party for underprivileged youngsters who are part of the St. Mary's program.
