The second squad is currently investigating a robbery that occurred in Plainview on Sept. 15 at 6:10 a.m.

According to detectives, a 42-year-old female arrived for church service at the New York Plainview United Methodist Church, which is located at 992 Old Country Road. As she walked up an interior staircase, a male suspect approached from behind and forcibly grabbed her pocketbook off her shoulder, causing her to fall down the stairs. The subject fled on foot with the victim's purse, eastbound on Old Country Road.

The victim was transported by Nassau County Police Ambulance to North Shore Plainview Hospital where she was treated for a fractured shoulder.

According to details released by Detective Sharp of the second squad, the subject is described as a black male in his 20s, between 5'6" and 5'9" with an average build. At press time, there were no major leads in the case and the investigation remains ongoing. Detective Sharp hopes to have a sketch released to crime stoppers as soon as possible.
