To his Plainview classmates, Harrison Chad is a regular fourth grader. After school is when his true colors shine. That is when he performs in Broadway musicals, shoots commercials, records television voice-overs and auditions for other parts.

Chad never dreamed he would appear on stage. He was always known as the comedian in the family and constantly made his uncle laugh. While attending a Seder, Chad's uncle suggested that he see an agent he knew. Without realizing how much would come from the meeting, Chad and his family went and the agent saw the same comedian that his family did.

He went on many auditions and starred in many commercials. His first Broadway performance came in 1999 when he got the part of the understudy for Michael Darling in the Tony-nominated production of Peter Pan. He then played Chip in Broadway's Beauty and the Beast and when that was over went right into his current role of Gavroche in Broadway's Les Miserables. He has been with Les Miserables for the past six months.

"I wasn't even in a school play before I did Peter Pan," said Chad, who is just a natural stage talent.

Chad is also the voice of Boots the Monkey on the Daytime Emmy nominated Dora the Explorer, which appears on Nickelodeon. He is presently recording his third season with the show.

Other projects for Chad include supporting roles in the films The Hebrew Hammer and Charlotte's Web 2. He was also a guest star on the television show Ed, a presenter at the 2001 Tony Awards and featured on Saturday Night Live.

His current commercial is an optimum on-line where a grandson is mad that he is going to visit his grandma because he is going to miss the hockey game and the grandma surprises him with hockey tickets. The grandson is Chad.

This Friday, Chad will be filming a Sprite commercial, a part that he just recently landed.

Chad attends all eight weekly performances of Les Miserables in New York City, because if he is not performing he acts as the understudy for the performer, and still attends school.

"As parents we want to try and keep him normal so he goes to school everyday," said Mali Chad, Harrison's mother. "Mrs. Weinstein, his principal, and all of his teachers have been so supportive. When everyone is supportive of what someone is doing it makes it so much easier."

Chad is still undecided about his plans for the future. "I really want to do the Full Monte but don't want to go the Full Monte," he joked in a recent interview. "I do want to thank my teacher, friends, mother, father and sister for all of their support."
