Nassau and Suffolk counties have a total population of 2,750,000. Eighteen states have a population less than 2,700,000. Combine Nassau, Suffolk, Kings and Queens and you have a population of 7,448,618 people. The island known as Long Island is 135 miles long and yet only eight states have a larger population.

The supervisors and legislators of all the towns in Nassau and Suffolk have to sit down with the knowledge that Long Island is over-populated and they must come up with a solution. Traffic is a gigantic problem and ways must be found to solve the commuting situation. Trains and buses must be adjusted to make people stop using their cars with only one or two people inside. Vacant land must remain vacant or become park land.
