Town Board Names 'Women of Distinction'
Plainview resident Janie Stockhammer and Susan Polansky and Woodbury resident Sharon Sabba Fierstein were all named "Women of Distinction" and honored by the Town of Oyster Bay at their March 19 meeting in town hall.

Library Not at Fault for Delayed Expansion
We at the Plainview Herald want to dismiss any questions there may be regarding an article pertaining to the library's expansion that ran on page one of the March 22 edition of the paper. The delayed expansion is not the fault of the library administration but rather a hold-up at the State Educational Building Department due to the backlog of applications after the September 11 tragedy. Promotions for Plainview Water District Personnel
With the retirement of Sal Lupis, longtime assistant superintendent of the Plainview Water District, the Board of Commissioners has announced the promotions of Al Bassetta to operations manager and John Speciale to distribution manager. These two valued employees will split duties previously handled by Assistant Superintendent Lupis.
