Eugene (Gene, Ed) E. Maher, 80, formerly of Plainview, died on Feb. 7, 2002. A WWII veteran, he was one of the founding families of Plainview. He was a member of AMVET Post #48. Husband of the late Anne. Father of Mary Marino and Edward Maher. Father-in-law of Marlen. Brother of Doris Caves and Betty Shanley. Grandfather of Christine, Michael, Jennifer and Jeffrey. Arrangements were made by Moloney's Lake Funeral Home, Lake Ronkonkoma. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's RC Church. Interment Mount St. Mary's Cemetery.
