Nassau County District Attorney Denis Dillon recently announced a guilty plea in connection with a prostitution ring that had operated out of a Plainview motel. The arrests of four people in connection with this crime were announced in July of this year.
The defendant, a 27-year-old resident of Huntington Station, recently pled guilty in County Court to Promoting Prostitution in the third degree and Money Laundering in the third degree, both class D felonies punishable by up to seven years in prison. As part of her plea, the defendant signed a settlement agreement for a civil forfeiture of $83,691.76.
The defendant "admitted that she used the Exotic Princess, a purported escort service that she advertised in Newsday and the Yellow Pages, as a vehicle for promoting prostitution and that she had been renting rooms at the Rodeway Inn in Plainview that were used by women whom she employed as prostitutes," said Dillon.
The Defendant will be sentenced on Feb. 14, 2002 by County Court Judge Joseph C. Calabrese. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Mary B. Ruddy.
