As a Plainview resident and this year's co-race director, I would like to invite Plainview runners and walkers to the 14th annual Ho Ho Ho Holiday Run. This year's event will be held at Bethpage High School, Dec. 22, starting at 9 a.m. This is the last and biggest running event of the year organized by the Greater Long Island Running Club. We are pleased to announce that Vitamin World-Nutrition Warehouse will once again be the major sponsor of the race. Proceeds from this event are donated to the Bretton Bowl to help needy families during the holiday season and the Maurer Foundation for its Breast Health Education program.

Race entrants are also encouraged to bring a toy to this event. Toys are distributed to local children in need. Last year almost 200 toys were donated to St. Mary's Children and Family Services of Syosset for their annual holiday party for underprivileged youngsters who are part of the St. Mary's program.
