Republican Incumbent Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor John Venditto had the endorsement of Independent Party leaders and received 79 votes on Tuesday's primary, according to unofficial results from the Nassau County Board of Elections. He was running against Democrat candidate Joseph Lorintz who ran a "write in" campaign. The Opportunity to Ballot votes were not counted and, as of Thursday, there was no estimated time when this should be completed.
Town of Oyster Bay residents will be voting in November to fill three councilmember seats. During Tuesday's primary, there were "write-in" contests for the Independence line in those three races and Republican candidates Angelo Delligatti, Leonard Symons and Chris Coschignano were endorsed by the party. Democrats Mary McCaffrey, David O'Brien and Josephine Reder challenged them in a "write-in" campaign. According to unofficial results from the Nassau County Board of Elections, incumbent Delligatti received 65 votes, incumbent Symons received 61 votes and Coschignano received 59 votes. Again, the Opportunity to Ballot votes for the democrats were not counted as of Thursday.
