On Aug. 14, the Plainview Water District will hold a public information meeting to discuss its efforts to clean up a gasoline spill at the former Mobil station, located at 1101 Old Country Road, that is contaminated with MTBE. The district operates a supply well approximately 450' away from the spill. The well is currently completely free of MTBE contamination, but will become polluted unless the spill is promptly cleaned up.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and other local officials have been invited to attend this vital meeting. The Board of Commissioners, superintendent and its attorney will be available to answer questions and concerns. Community attendance is essential to the Plainview Water District's efforts to have this spill cleaned up without further delay and to maintain the high quality of the water supply.

This important meeting will be held at the Old Bethpage Village Restoration Administration Building located on Round Swamp Road in Old Bethpage on Tuesday, Aug 14 at 7 p.m. Please call the district office at 931-6469 if you should have any questions or require any additional information.
