Aine McCaughey, a students at Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School, has been singing all of her life and has participated in school chorus since fourth grade. Presently she is a member of the Honors Choir and the select Chamber Singers and Voco Loco.

McCaughey has also been very active in musical theater, participating in productions at CAP, the Mid-Island Y JCC, Mattlin Middle School and Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School including Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Guys and Dolls, Cinderella, Jesus Christ Superstar, Bye Bye Birdie, Gypsy, South Pacific, Cabaret and Bells Are Ringing. She has also participated in productions by the Thespian Society every fall. McCaughey has studied dance, voice and piano privately. She has also participated in the USDAN summer program fort two years.

McCaughey has been selected for Nassau Music Educators Association (NMEA), All-County Chorus in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001. She was selected for participation in the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State Women's Chorus in 1999 and the All-State Mixed Chorus in 2000. This led to her selection to the Music Educators National Conference (MENC) All-Eastern Honors Chorus. On March 1, McCaughey traveled to Pittsburgh for rehearsals with over 300 other talented high school vocalists from the central and northeastern states. They performed in the All-Eastern Concert on March 4 at Pittsburgh's Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts.

At POB High School, McCaughey serves as president of the Honors Choir and was voted Homecoming Queen. She is also the head of the French Honor Society, vice-president of the National Honor Society and secretary of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. In addition, she participates in SADD, works two jobs and maintains a 96 average.

When it comes to discussing the future, McCaughey is undecided about her plans, but knows she wants to help others and enjoys making people happy.
