    On Feb. 13, residents of Plainview attended a public meeting to voice their opinions and concerns over Home Depot's application to build a 119,000 square foot retail store and garden center in a 9.5 acre industrial area between Round Swamp Road and Sunnyside Boulevard, bordering the north service road of the Long Island Expressway in Plainview.   • SPORTS: Local Residents Score in Run

    Odd Sangesland, a resident of Plainview, scored as the first runner over the age of 70 in the 400 meter run in the Jan. 14 Long Island Track and Field Developmental Meet at Suffolk Community College. Sangesland ran an outstanding 1:33.4 for the 400 meters, which works out to a pace just over six minutes per mile. Sangesland is a member of the Greater Long Island Running Club and runs competitively for the Club's "Senior Feet" Racing Team. FULL STORY
