Central Island Healthcare in Plainview recently welcomed Scott L. Wheeler as its new administrator.

As administrator, Wheeler brings a wealth of experience with top-rated, deficiency-free health care facilities, having most recently served as Area Administrator for the Westridge Health Care Center (Vencor) in Marlborough, Massachusetts. In his former capacity as Area Administrator, Wheeler directed the operations for three health care facilities representing nearly 500 beds in the Metrowest Boston area and managed the marketing and admissions for an additional three facilities totaling 300 beds. Prior to being promoted to Area Administrator, Wheeler served as Administrator for the Westborough Health Care Center of Westborough, Massachusetts and as Administrator for Mariner Health of North Central Massachusetts. His field experience includes sub-acute care, Alzheimer's care, psychiatric care and long-term care.

Upon graduating from LeMoyne College of Syracuse, NY, Wheeler went on to obtain his Masters in Health Administration at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut and completed his internships at Yale-New Haven Hospital and Mariner Health of Southern Connecticut.
