On Nov. 10 and 11, shoppers at Greenfield's Shoprite in Plainview had an opportunity to donate their free turkeys to the community food collection, which was sponsored and coordinated by the Plainview-Old Bethpage Lions Club. The annual event was, once again, a success.

Volunteers Jason Fishkind, Steven Newler, Matt Goldberg and Eric Schneider take a break from carrying turkeys.

Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School students volunteered to be the "muscle power" for shoppers and the Lions Club. These tenth graders assisted, for the fourth year, in transporting the 100+ frozen turkeys from shopping carts to cars and then into storage freezers.
