L.A. Hair Color and Day Spa in Plainview, owned by Larry Ammirati and Al Stockman, will be holding their Sixth Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Day on Friday, Oct. 27. Raffles drawings will be taking place all day on Friday and the winners do not need to be present at the time of the drawing.

Raffle tickets, which are six tickets for $5 or $1 each, are already on sale and can be purchased at the store, located at 1008 Old County Road in the Morton Village Plaza. Stores from all over the community have donated items such as a basket of Beanie Babies, a day of beauty at the spa and also the hair salon and a gift from the florist, to name a few. A few companies have also been helping with the fund raiser, but they wish to remain anonymous. All proceeds will go to the Long Island League to Abolish Breast Cancer.

"Last year we raised close to $2,500 and this year we hope to raise more," said Candy Stockman, salon coordinator at L.A. Hair Color and Day Spa.
