The single biggest day on the local running calendar - that's the Nationwide Insurance Ocean to Sound Relay.
One hundred and twenty teams successfully completed the 50.7-mile jaunt from Jones Beach State Park to Bethpage State Park. Congratulations are due to all the award-winners, to the fun-loving teams like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs who won this year's "Spirit of the Race Award," and to everyone else who came along for the trip.
Top honors overall were earned by the Manhattan-based Warren Street S&AC, which covered the course in 4 hours, 40 minutes, 36 seconds in front of the second-place Bellmore Striders. The Farmingdale-based Runner's Edge Women's Team took first place in the Women's Open Division, the host, Greater Long Island Running Club, scored first in the Men's Master's Division and the Northport Running Club scored first in the Women's Master's Division.
