Golfer Adam Fuchs, a graduate of JFK High School in Plainview, was recently named athlete of the week at Binghamton University.

The University's Male Athlete of the Year, Fuchs began his sophomore year in fine fashion, winning both the Elmira Invitational and Cornell-Colgate Invitational.

At Elmira, Fuchs carded four birdies en route to an even-par 71, claiming medallist honors and steering BU to the team title.

At the two-day Cornell-Colgate Invite, Fuchs shot 72-70 to defeat 119 golfers and lead BU to yet another team title. He was the lone golfer to shoot under par (-2) for the two-day event, and is averaging a stunning 71.0 thus far in the 2000 fall season.
