Next Sunday morning, June 18, a very special event is coming to Plainview, and everyone can be a part of it.
The third annual Vytra Kids Helping Kids Run and Walk will take place at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School. There will be a 1/4 mile fun run for kids (on the track) at 8:15 a.m., and a 1/2 mile fun run for the kids (also on the track) at 8:30 a.m. The main event -- a 5 Kilometer Run and Walk that everyone can participate in will start on the streets adjacent to the school at 9:15 a.m. sharp.
We hope that as many of you as possible will come over to the school to be a part of the festivities. If you can't come over to the school, just stand out on the streets and cheer the runners and walkers on. Let's show everyone what a friendly community Plainview is!
Please, please avoid driving on the route of the 5 Kilometer Run during the few minutes that the runners will be in your neighborhood. The Run will start at 9:15 a.m., and the last participant should be across the finish line no later than 10 a.m., although most of the course will be clear before then.
"The youth of today is America's future tomorrow." Please join in with the entire community in helping Kids Helping Kids start making a real difference on June 18. If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to call Bob at 501-0844 or Mike at 349-7646.
