On Sunday May 7, runners from all over the New York Metropolitan area converged on Eisenhower Park for annual Canon Long Island Marathon and half marathon - and runners from the Greater Long Island Running Club were out in force for the event.

Top club runners were Donna McMahon, who was the overall winner of the women's division of the full marathon; Rudy Afanador, who was fourth overall in the full marathon, Carlos Castro Jr., third overall in the half marathon, and Kathy Martin, third woman overall in the half marathon.

Both the full marathon and half marathon were part of the KeySpan Grand Prix of Long Island road race, conducted under the auspices of Long Island Track and Field.
