It has come to my attention, through the efforts of Citizens Campaign for the Environment, that the harmful toxin MTBE has been polluting our water. It is imperative that we, the citizens of Hicksville, take action to remove it from our town.

New York State Legislature has already passed a bill proposing to remove the MTBE from our water. It is up to Governor Pataki to sign this bill into effect. I encourage you to write to our governor and urge him to put the bill through.

To make a difference, it is important that we respond quickly. The longer we wait, millions of gallons of water will be further contaminated. Please do your part to get this bill passed. The future of New York depends on it.
