Town Raising Revenue Through Fees
The Town of Oyster Bay is raising fees - which translates into more revenue for the municipality. They have raised the parking fees for the unincorporated and incorporated villages; there is now a fee required if you want to reserve a picnic area in the town; permit fees have gone up in Planning and Development.

Legislature Majority Secures Top Financial Management Experts
Presiding Officer Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) and the majority of the Nassau County Legislature announced this week the appointment of Mark D. Young to the position of director of finance and budgeting and Arimax Financial Advisors, as chief financial advisors to the legislature. Arimax will serve as consultants in developing a short and long-term financial recovery plan for the county.

The Greater Long Island Running Club was proud to be able to donate gift certificates for 12 pairs of ASICS Gel running shoes to the youngsters from the Malverne High School girls track team.

POBJFK Alumni Soccer Game
On Friday, Nov. 26, the third annual POBJFK Alumni soccer game was held at the high school field in Plainview. The grads took an early two-goal lead, but then held on as the varsity came back on two late Michael Harris goals to tie the game at three with minutes remaining.
