Among the highlights of the Sept. 21 meeting of the Greater Long Island Running Club was the presentation of a check in the amount of $4000 to the Long Island Alzheimer's Foundation. the donation was derived from the proceeds of the Seacrest-Tobay Triathlon that attracted over a thousand athletes to Oyster Bay last month.

"We are very happy to be able to present this check to such an important organization as the Alzheimer's Foundation," observed Deputy Triathlon Race Director Elaine Winkler. "They are doing wonderful work to combat the effects of this terrible disease."
