Legislator Judy Jacobs Seeks Third Term
Incumbent County Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury), minority leader of the Legislature, is seeking a third term this November in the 16th Legislative District. She was first elected to the seat in 1995, the inaugural year of the County Legislature. She is running with the endorsements of the Democrats and Independence Party.

Nighthawks Continue Winning Streak
The POB Nighthawks continued their winning ways by taking first place in yet another tournament. After ending the spring season by winning the Massapequa Memorial Day tournament, the Nighthawks played smart, aggressive soccer in all five of their games at the HBC Labor Day tournament. They won four games and tied one (in the pouring rain) allowing only three goals. All team members, including several new players, played well throughout the tournament.

Organizers of the inaugural Lovenox Five-Mile Race for Cardiac Wellness are being pleasantly surprised by the strong early response to their event, to be held on Sunday morning, Oct. 31, starting and finishing at Nassau County's Cantiague Park on East John Street in Hicksville.
