More than 40,000 women die of breast cancer each year. Many of these women could have been saved with early detection and if they had had access to the most advanced treatments available today. Learn what these medical breakthroughs are at the third breast-cancer seminar, sponsored by Nassau County Legislator Barbara Johnson, a 14-year breast cancer survivor.
"What you learn at this seminar could save your life or the life of someone you love," said Legislator Johnson.
Guest speakers will include Dr. Larry Norton, chief of the divisions of solid tumor oncology and breast cancer oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center; and Dr. George Raptis, chief of the clinical breast cancer program at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Together, these doctors will detail the latest breakthroughs the medical world has to offer.
Join Legislator Johnson on Sunday, Oct. 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Great Neck-Port Washington Elks Hall, 30 Haven Avenue in Port Washington. Bring friends or family to hear the potential lifesaving information. Admission is free, but because of limited seating, reservations are suggested. Call Legislator Johnson at 571-6211 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. any weekday prior to the event.
