  • NEWS: Dems Call for Quick Action on Tobacco Legislation

    Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury), minority leader of the legislature, today called on Presiding Officer Bruce Blakeman for prompt, bi-partisan action on a proposed local law that would limit the accessibility of tobacco products only to store personnel and, therefore, away from children. The law will also limit the ability of point-of-sale advertising to induce young people into buying any tobacco product. FULL STORY

  • NEWS: New Wheels for Auxiliary

    Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury), minority leader for the legislature, was pleased to look over this new Nassau County auxiliary police vehicle that was recently put into service. The re-conditioned vehicles are former Nassau County police squad cars that have been repainted and rejuvenated. The legislature passed a resolution last year to distribute one new car to each of the 19 legislative districts. Here are County Executive Thomas Gulotta, Nassau County Auxiliary Police Inspector Mal Tarkin of Jericho, Minority Leader Jacobs and Presiding Officer Bruce Blakeman holding the keys to the new vehicle.
