The Plainview PAL third and fourth grade lacrosse team earned their wings this past Sunday with a win over a tough Jericho squad. The score was 4-3 with Greg Lester scoring the winning goal with under two minutes left in the game. Also scoring for the Hawks was Logan Rubinstein who amazed the crowd with two goals. Jimmy Doyle rounded out the scoring with a hard shot that just caught the corner of the net. The Plainview defense played hard all game and was led by the tough play of "Big" Aaron Lewis, and Evan "The Rock" Siegal with some great support from Sean Kampfer and Randy Brachman. Playing some great lacrosse in the goal was Jason Passafiume in the first half, and Josh Allen in the second half. The midfield play of John Bastone, Angelo Austria, Doug Rossi and AJ Lee was exceptional with 30 ground balls which helped keep Jericho on defense for much of the game. They did miss the play of Matthew "The Train" McDonagh who will be returning to the lineup this upcoming week. The attack play of Eric Eichenbaum, Todd Levine, Andrew Carcich, Paul Rut and Philip Eslick kept the pressure on the Jericho goalie for most of the game with a barrage of shots. It was a great win for the Young Hawks who have been having a great year learning and playing the game of lacrosse for the first time. Their next home game is May 16 at Stradford Road School against Bellmore-Merrick starting at 2:00. Come on out and cheer on the Plainview PAL Lacrosse Hawks and see some great lacrosse!
