Jacobs to Sponsor Safe Communities Program
Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) extends an invitation to school PTA members, community and business leaders, and anyone interested in the safety of our children and residents, to attend a "Safety on the Go" forum, Tuesday, Feb. 23, 7:30 p.m. at the Jericho Library. The library is located on Merry Lane, just south of Jericho Turnpike (Rt. 25), one block east of Route 106/107 (Broadway). Refreshments will be served, compliments of Legislator Jacobs.

Nassau County Sports Commission Hosting Student Essay Contest
The Nassau County Sports Commission, in conjunction with the New York Mets/Sharp Electronics Student Athlete Leadership Team, USA Today Education and Sportsrap are hosting a county wide essay contest on sportsmanship for fifth graders. The Nassau County Sports Commission (NCSC), a non-profit organization, encourages fair play and realizes the importance of sportsmanship on and off the field. The NCSC understands the importance of teaching our youngsters the positives of sports and sports participation.
