The Joseph F. Lamb Council No. 5723 Knights of Columbus, Plainview/Hicksville, held the official installation of their re-elected officers, at the social meeting, held on Thursday evening, Sept. 17, in the school basement of Our Lady of Mercy in Hicksville. They will serve during the Columbian year, which started July 1 and will end on June 30, 1999. A large crowd of brother knights, wives, Columbiettes, friends and well wishers, were on hand to witness the very colorful ceremony.

District Deputy Marvin (Ray) Dalton from the 12th district, and also District Deputy Ralph R. Plaisance, Jr. from the 13th district, led the teams that officially installed the officers of the Joseph F. Lamb Council.

The newly installed officers of Joe Lamb Council are as follows:

Grand Knight: Joseph P. Allison

Deputy Grand Knight: Frank W. Jopp

Warden: Peter Cherry

Recorder: Robert W. Andruzzi

Treasurer: Roe Catalano

Advocate: Frank J. Deturris

Inside Guard: Domenick Tantillo

Outside Guards: Joseph P. Zito, Warren Scaglione

Three Year Trustee: P.G.K., F.N., Patrick J. Annello

Chancellor Alfred J. Eusini; financial secretary Richard P. Layh; and lecturer P.G.K., John N. Lombardi, were not available for this installation ceremony, and will be installed at a later date.

The chaplain is Msgr. James E. Boesel, who is the pastor of Our Lady of Mercy Church, and who has served as chaplain to the Joe Lamb Council for over 24 years.

Assisting 12th D.D. Marvin Dalton in the installation ceremony were:

12th D.D. Ceremonial Warden: P.G.K. Hank Schettini, from Joseph F. Lamb Council and 12th D.D. Warden: P.G.K. John Paterson from Oyster Bay Council.

Assisting 13th D.D. Ralph R. Plaisance, Jr. in the installation ceremony were:

13th D.D. Warden: P.G.K. Anthony Cannone, from Holy Innocents Council; 13th D.D. Warden: D.G.K. Alfred Hopper, from Holy Family Council; and 13th D.D. Warden: P.G.K. Neil McInnis, from Joseph Barry Council.

Honored dignitaries on hand were: Knights of Columbus New York State secretary James E. Carroll; Nassau County conference secretary Anthony L. Preziosi (who is also coordinator of Shrine of Our Lady of the Island); Nassau/Suffolk chapter chairman P.G.K., F.D.D., Robert Slingo; and Knights of Columbus insurance field agent James Cullinan.

It should be noted that the Joe Lamb Council was particularly gratified by the presence of Knights of Columbus New York State secretary James E. Carroll, who took time from a very busy schedule to attend this installation.

After the ceremony, food, drinks, and refreshments were served to the many in attendance. All really seemed to enjoy the evening.
