The Long Island Wheelchair Athletic Club reached out for help once again last month -- this time for the Express 5 Kilometer Run to raise money in support of local wheelchair athletics -- and once again the investment firm of Salomon Smith Barney stepped forward to lend a hand. Salomon Smith Barney donated $2,500 to cover the cost of the T-shirts that were presented to each competitor in the Run, thus ensuring the event's success.
"Salomon Smith Barney has once again stepped forward as a business with a heart," said Wheelchair Athletic Club Vice President Nick Katsounis. "They are wonderful people who have time and again proved to be good friends to the disabled here on Long Island."
