The tournament is attended by the best teams from Nassau, Suffolk, Queens and Brooklyn. The team from Plainview fits right into the category of best team. Still hot from storming through the East Meadow Tournament, which the team had won earlier in the week, the boys had their competitive juices flowing.

Game one was a tough, tightly contested game with Plainview leading 1-0 going into the fifth inning. Bryan Levin, Jimmy McCann and Ryan Blumenthal all singled. Jeremy Bordeaux, Ben Green then doubled. Josh Sason, Thomas Hopkins and Scott Eliot singled. This rally was eight hits in a row! This put the game out of reach. Jeremy pitches what has come to be expected, a brilliant 14K shutout. Game 2 has the boys facing host team Floral Park. The score was tied 0-0 until the third inning. Ben doubles to start it off. Josh singles. Thomas Hopkins gets an RBI double. Floral Park tied it up 1-1. Thomas Giuletti led off in the bottom of the seventh (extra inning) with a single. Jimmy and Ryan follow with singles to load the bases. Jeremy took ball four to walk in a winning run.

Game 3 was another very well contested game against Bethpage. This game also went to extra innings. The score was tied 4-4 in the bottom of the seventh. Ryan, Jeremy and Ben singled. Thomas Hopkins base hit drove in the winning run. Jeremy pitched the whole game; and along with the excellent fielding, these are the reasons these guys are in every game.

Game four was against Ozone/Howard Beach. The game was close, until Ben Green singled in the go-ahead run, driving in Jeremy in the fifth. The victory moved Plainview into the championship round via the winner's bracket. The team was the only undefeated team left in the double elimination tourney.

The boys went into the final day of the tournament needing to win one of two over the team from North Bellmore/Merrick.

Game 5 saw the boys get handed their first loss. Bellmore/Merrick used the long ball to beat us 5-2. The teams had a one-hour intermission.

Game six was the championship against the team from Bellmore/Merrick. The boys came into the game ready to get back to the winning play that had got them to the show. The game had no score until the third. Then Ryan Blumenthal singled, Jeremy Bordeaux singled, and then Ben Green opened the scoring with a double that drove in Ryan. The game stayed close until the boys got an insurance run. Scott Eliot walked, Alex Regensburg was sent in to run for Scott. Thomas Hopkins smashed a double. Thomas Giuletti hit a sacrifice that scored Alex.

The game was pitched by Thomas Giuletti. Thomas was the tournament's most valuable player. This was awarded by the Floral Park director after the game. Thomas gave a short speech afterward.

This tournament win combined with the East Meadow win gives them a sweep of the summer. Next year the boys will be competing in the Williamsport Tournament "Little League World Series." Joe Green, the team manager, is going to prepare the boys by entering them in a fall league that will keep the boys in shape. Congratulations to all the boys.
