All runners who will be participating in the 1998 Canon Long Island Marathon or Half Marathon are cordially invited to attend a special clinic geared towards making sure that everyone has as good an experience in the race as possible.
The clinic will be held on Tuesday evening, April 28, at the Bethpage Public Library, on Powell Avenue in Bethpage, starting promptly at 7:45 p.m. Admission is free, no advance registration is necessary, and everyone who is looking for some last minute help on how to run a little bit faster and feel a little bit better in the marathon or half marathon is cordially invited to attend. This is a perfect last minute primer for the veteran runner as well as the first time marathoner and half marathoner.
The distinguished panel of experts who will address the audience and answer their questions at the clinic includes Long Island Marathon Medical Director Dr. Edward Fryman, Long Island Marathon Technical Director David Katz, past Long Island Marathon winner Alex Cuozzo, Long Island's all-time women's masters marathon champion Maddy Harmeling, Newsday and Runner's World Running and Fitness columnist John Hanc, Sports Physical Therapist Scott Belding, and Regina Ronan, first American finisher in the 1995 New York Marathon.
The clinic is being sponsored by the Plainview-Old Bethpage Road Runners Club, Long Island's largest running club, in conjunction with the Nassau County Department of Recreation and Parks. For more information, call Club President Mike Polansky at 349-7646.
