Carol Goldklang and Barbara Tyree will receive recognition awards from the Junior League of Long Island, on Monday, April 27, at the Garden City Hotel. This 12th annual volunteer merit awards luncheon will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Carol Goldklang, a resident of Plainview, has been instrumental in the growth of the Lupus Foundation. Over the past 20 years, she has served the foundation in every position and has been president of the Lupus Foundation for six years. Carol spends many hours speaking for the Lupus Foundation, working on fund raisers and managing the office. Carol has been a great asset to the foundation.

Barbara Tyree, a resident of Old Bethpage, is a volunteer for Madona Heights Services. She is on the board of directors and leads the membership and nominations committees on the Ladies Auxiliary. She is the heart and soul of the Ladies Golf Outing every year. In her tireless work for the agency, she has helped bring in major contributors who have funded special projects. She has made many people smile through some tough times.

Carol and Barbara have demonstrated their dedication to the Long Island community. These exceptional volunteers have been selected by their organizations to be honored at the Volunteer Merit Awards luncheon.

The Junior League of Long Island is an organization dedicated to promote volunteering, to develop the leadership potential of women and to serve the Long Island community through the effective action of trained volunteers.
