We, the officers and members of the Plainview-Bethpage Lions would like to thank the community for their overwhelming display of generosity during our holiday food drive.
We would like to particularly thank all of the following people: the Plainview-Old Bethpage School District at large, in particular. We would like to thank the Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School Leo's Club as well as their parents, their advisors Maria McCumisky and Ray Horton, Leslie Newler, a concerned parent and the following Mattlin Middle School students, Steven Newler, Jason Zemsky, Joel Vago, Matt Goldberg and Jennifer Goldfarb.
Most of all, we would like to thank the Blue Angel Diner, Stay Slim Diet Club, Greenfield's Shoprite Stores and the Plainview Herald for their constant public concern and support.
The response to our turkey drive was so far above our expectations that we had to limit the number of turkeys we accepted because of the lack of storage space.
It was not our intention to offend anyone. Our sincere apologies to those we had to turn away. Rest assured that all of the food collected was donated to a needy cause.
Due to the generosity of the Plainview-Old Bethpage community, those less fortunate than ourselves enjoyed a happy and fulfilling holiday.
