Defensive Driving Course
Presented by Driver Improvement Programs. Motorists who complete the course who are principal drivers must be given a 10 percent discount on both their automobile liability and collision premiums for three full years. The NYS Dept. of Motor Vehicles will reduce up to four points from the motorist's record for any infractions the motorist has been convicted of in the previous 18 months. Fee is $45. Winter Camp
Come spend the winter break at the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary. There's lots to see and do. Spend the week or just sign up for a day. Child & Family Adoption Resource & Consultation Center will be holding workshop events for World Child/Prospective Clients, designed to provide ongoing information and support to make adoption a joyful and uncomplicated experience. LI Holiday Traditions
The holiday customs of Holland, Germany and England all helped to form the traditions of the Christmas season that are cherished today. Old Bethpage Village Restoration will allow visitors to this historic living history village an opportunity to enjoy a 19th century LI Christmas and witness the origins of these customs. The 18th century Dutch holiday of St. Nicholas will be celebrated at 1765 Martin Schenck House with wafers and other treats. In the 1866 Layton General Store, gift items of the 19th century will be displayed and there will be a Christmas tree in all its Victorian splendor. 19th century entertainment will be highlighted with a quartet performing sacred and secular choral music in the Manetto Hill Church and fiddle music at John Noon's Inn.
