Special Use Permit in Plainview Scheduled for Dec. 9 Hearing

A special use permit to convert a hotel into a senior housing facility will be the subject of a Tuesday, Dec. 9, public hearing by the Oyster Bay Town Board, according to Town Councilman Leonard B. Symons.

"The applicant, Plainview Hotel Corp., is seeking a special use permit to convert an existing 182-unit hotel into a 144-unit enriched senior housing facility with a dining facility, kitchenettes in each room and other amenities including an arts and crafts room, billiard and card room and a medical office," Councilman Symons stated. "The property, which is zoned 'F' neighborhood business, is located on the northeast corner of Sunnyside Boulevard and Summit Street."

Councilman Symons noted that the meeting will be held in the hearing room of Town Hall East, Audrey Avenue, Oyster Bay. Beginning at 10 a.m., the regular town calendar, including the above-mentioned hearing, will be called. Following the regular town business, the town board will be available to listen to public comment on any subject.
