Back by popular demand, “Swing Fore the Health of It”, collaboration between the American Cancer Society and Harbor Links Golf Course, will offer survivors the opportunity to get into the swing of golf after dealing with breast cancer. In its sixth year at Harbor Links Golf Course in Port Washington, “Swing Fore the Health of It” is a free, five-week program that provides the opportunity for novices and experienced golfers to become physically active through the game of golf.
The evening program, beginning Tuesday, April 6, for five consecutive weeks, will be open to 40 participants who have had breast cancer surgery within the past 18 months. Under the direction of the golf pros at Harbor Links, the program will focus each week on a different aspect of the game: pre-swing drills, safety and equipment, the full swing, the short game, and an introduction to the golf course. The final week will be a celebration and will include some fun golfing skills contests.
