Billy Minicozzi Aced the Mystery Picture

Billy Minicozzi aced the May 21 mystery picture when he said, “It’s the Bayville firemen’s track at Centre Island beach.”

On a sports note, Billy said this week’s big sports story is about Michael Vick, former Falcon quarterback who pleaded guilty to charges of financing a dog fighting ring in Virginia. He’s spent 19 months in prison with two months in home confinement. What comes next for him? Dog lovers, animal rights activists and football fans are considering the options.

Marg Buffa thought the mystery photo was the Firemen’s Field training arch near the Oyster Bay Railroad station. She added that her son Travis is doing well in San Diego. He is an Annapolis graduate.

Belle Santora guessed at the answer saying, “I hope it’s Firemen’s Field.” It’s the trees that sort of give it away, that it is a different location than the one in Oyster Bay – although the guess of it being a firemen’s arch is correct.

As we go to press early on Friday, May 22 - so that the newspaper can be closed to celebrate Memorial Day and the parades the editors will cover – this is the end of this week’s mystery picture column. If you answered after that date, we will have your response in the June 4 issue of the Enterprise Pilot – and so the summer arrives! Too fast!
