A native of the South Bronx, Joanne Figueroa, like many one-time residents of the city, has found a home in Roslyn.
Dr. Figueroa has been in Roslyn Heights on 216 Mineola Ave. since 2008. Not only does she find Roslyn “a lovely place,” Dr. Figueroa also notes that her location is convenient for her patients from all over Long Island, but especially from Glen Cove, where she previously practiced medicine.
Dr. Figueroa was in Glen Cove from 2004 to 2008. Now she is in Roslyn to stay. “[Roslyn Heights] is easy for patients to get to,” she told The Roslyn News. “I love it here so much that I moved here.”
Dr. Figueroa’s practice specializes in urology and pelvic health. More specifically, the office specializes in general urology, female pelvic reconstructive surgery, painful bladder syndrome/interstitial cystitis and pelvic pain. Hospital affiliations include St. Francis Hospital, NSLIJ at Glen Cove Hospital and NSLIJ at Syosset Hospital. In addition, Dr. Figueroa is enthusiastic about her staff and equipment. “We have all the top of the line, state of the art equipment,” she said. “We have a family-friendly with a young, vibrant staff.”
A native of The Bronx, Dr. Figueroa was trained at that borough’s famed Albert Einstein. In Long Island, she earned both her undergraduate and medical degree at Stony Brook University.
“Our doors are open to all residents,” she said. “I look forward to helping my patients to help themselves.”
