Friday, 13 April 2012 00:00It has been wonderful driving home while it is still light out, thanks to daylight saving time. What makes it especially beautiful has been seeing the trees along Route 106, made all pink with the rays of the setting sun.
We are always in such a hurry; we forget to see the beauty that is all around us.
Which brings to mind the lovely response we received for the Valentine Haiku contest, and we would like you to send them in again, but on a regular basis.
In their best form, haikus include a subtle indication of the time of year, and create a visual scene. We’re hoping readers might consider contributing haikus to this newspaper for a regular Haiku Moment, something to make us all “stop and smell the roses.”
Use five chosen beats
and seven meaningful more
and end with just five.
It will be easy for readers to top that trial balloon.
