Mystery Picture: January 10, 2012

Chris Mahon Knows Oyster Bay

Chris Mahon called to identify the Jan. 5 mystery picture in the Enterprise Pilot. He said, “It’s Coe Hall at the Arboretum. I went there a month ago and the picture looked very familiar to me. There are a lot of nice things there.” Chris and his wife Nicole live in East Norwich. Nick is a clinic technician at the East Norwich Veterinary Clinic.

Billy Minicozzi said, “It’s a chandelier over a table probably in Oyster Bay.” On a sports note he was looking forward to what is going on leading up to the Super Bowl. He said the Giants played Atlanta and beat them 24 to 2 on Sunday at the MetLife Stadium. Next they will play the Green Bay Packers in Green Bay’s historic Lambeau Field on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 4:30 p.m.

Green Bay won the Super Bowl last year and went 15-1 this year, although earlier this season, the Giants played them in a very close game, which went down to the very last second. Fans will remember the excitement.

The Giants defeated the Packers in Green Bay in Jan. 2008 to win the NFC Championship and advance to the Super Bowl, which they won that year.

This year the Super Bowl will be on Feb. 5 in Indianapolis.

And, Leven Ashby, formerly of Oyster Bay and now of Hampton, Virginia, emailed us saying, “My old schoolmate Tony Pilla is right.  I noticed over the last month or so, answers to pictures that I never saw initially posted.  I knew something was wrong with the Internet posting and waited hopefully for it to come to light. Go Tony!”

We appreciate the heads up. We thought we had fixed the problem but now we will really stitch up the glitch.

Dear readers, do let us know how things work this week.
