Colleen Bagan Knows Oyster Bay

Colleen Bagan of the Village Gourmet Deli identified the mystery picture in the Oct. 7 issue of the Enterprise Pilot’s column, on how well do you know the area. She said, “It’s the Atlantic Steamer Fire Department on 9/11 at the Western Waterfront Memorial. The firefighters are: Chick Maiorana, Vinnie Aquilino, Mike Fitzgerald, Bob Walles and Frank Ozol.

Billy Minicozzi Knows Oyster Bay

Loyal mystery picture fan Billy Minicozzi knows Oyster Bay. He called to say the photo in the Sept. 16 issue of the Enterprise Pilot was one of the Town of Oyster Bay’s showmobiles. “It’s parked on town property near Firemen’s Field,” he said. On a sports note, Billy is looking forward to the football season! And a win by the Jets!

Shelby Coates Knows Oyster Bay

Shelby Coates, called to say he is now living in Oyster Bay and getting to know the area a little bit better. He has been a familiar face in Oyster Bay over the years. As for “How well do you know the area,” he said, “It’s Sagamore Yacht Club with a view of the water, probably looking toward Mill Neck, not Centre Island.” He aced it!

Mystery Picture Still a Mystery

Billy Minicozzi guessed the plants in the mystery photo of Sept. 2 was of plants in front of Dodds & Eder. On a sports note he said, “I think it is time for the Mets to throw the towel in. I don’t think they will make the playoffs and it would be nice if the Yankees win the World Series.” He said it wouldn’t be great for himself, a big Mets fan, “But my friend David, at work, will be happy.”
