Vincent S. Furnari, of Bayville, died on Jan. 23, 2012 at age 90. A WWII Army Air Corps veteran, he was a family man and dedicated worker. He worked as a draftsman for many years. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, a member of American Legion Robert H. Spittel Post, a Eucharistic Minister and lecturer at St. Gertrude R.C. Church. Husband of Anna for 67 years. Father of Theresa Sacco (Anthony), Anthony (Elizabeth) and Joanne Gaglione (Robert). Brother of Rose Pizzirusso. Grandfather of five. Great-grandfather of three. Antonio Sanchez “Tony,” 83, beloved husband of Lorraine “Lorry” (Bousch) Sanchez, of Westerly, RI, formerly longtime residents of East Norwich. passed away at his home on Jan. 26, 2012. Born in Havana, Cuba, he was predeceased by his parents and two brothers. Antonio worked as a wholesale jeweler for A. Sanchez Jewelry. He was a communicant of St. Clare Church, Westerly, and an active parishioner at St. Dominic’s when living in East Norwich. In addition to his family and friends, Antonio will be dearly missed by his cherished dog, Muffin. The family wishes to thank all of his caregivers for their kind support.

Helen Mae Coston, of Oyster Bay, died Jan. 22, 2012. Wife of the late Julius A. Coston. Mother of Margo Coston. Grandmother of Collota, Darnell, Kristi and Helen. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Helen Mae was born in New Orleans, LA, on March 12, 1925, the daughter of the late Joseph and Maggie Williams. Helen attended school in New Orleans and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. In 1944 Helen came to New York City to visit her sister Zenobia Williams and decided to stay. Helen worked in a defense plant manufacturing parts for aircraft and later worked in a factory making ladies handbags.

Maria V. Thompson, age 83, passed away quietly on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at her home in Oyster Bay. She is survived by Henry, her husband of 52 years, her son Anthony of New York City, and two grandchildren. A memorial service is planned for a future date.
