Carol Johnston Mali DuBois, 90, died peacefully at home in Oyster Bay Cove on March 3, 2012, and was buried March 6 at a graveside service in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Tarrytown. Born October 6, 1921 in New York City, daughter of John Taylor Johnston Mali, Belgian Consul General, and Caramai Carroll. Educated at Spence School, Vassar and Barnard Colleges. Widow of Eugene DuBois (1911-1975), travel writer and airline executive. A passionate environmentalist, she served for many years as president of Action for Preservation and Conservation of the North Shore of Long Island and on the board of the Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium. She was a 40-year volunteer for the American Red Cross and taught a current events class at the Doubleday Babcock Senior Center in Oyster Bay. Survived by four daughters: Caroline Starin DuBois, Oyster Bay; Abigail DuBois, Arlington, MA; Patricia DuBois, Topsham, ME; Ariane DuBois, Washington, DC; and three granddaughters: Grace DuBois Johnston, Caramai DuBois Johnston and Anna DuBois Bigelow. Eleanore Coleburn Zoller, of Laurel Hollow, passed away on March 3, 2012 at the age of 91. Her husband Dr. Philip A. Zoller and her sister Carolyn predeceased her. She was born and raised in Norwalk, CT, and attended Skidmore College. After graduating in 1941, she was faculty secretary to Skidmore’s Department of Nursing in New York City for several years. Ellie resided in Cove Neck for 50 years, during which time she volunteered and served on the board of Raynham Hall Museum. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. During her life Ellie had a passion for gardening, particularly orchids. She was also a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her brother Kenneth M. Coleburn (Carolyn) and her children: Dr. Philip A. Zoller Jr. (Christianne), Thomas R. Zoller (Kathryn), Carolyn Z. Ritter (John), Dr. Robert C. Zoller (Janet); and six grandchildren, Jon, Alice, Kathryn, Rachel, Rebecca and Thomas. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Raynham Hall Museum, 200 West Main St., Oyster Bay NY, 11771. Marie C. Colvin, of London, England, formerly of East Norwich, was tragically killed in Homs, Syria, on Feb. 22, 2012 at age 56. Beloved daughter of Rosemarie and the late William J. Colvin.
