George Thomas Kappel Sr., 74, of Oyster Bay, died on Monday, Sept. 3, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Demet; his children, Mary Donna (Joe), George (Dara) and Karen; his grandchildren, Ryan, Jake, Lauren, Samantha and Henry; his brothers John (Helen), Jack (Betty), Robert (Gemma), Richard (Laura) and his sisters Anna and Evelyn.
A private memorial service was held at the Francis P. Devine Funeral Home in Oyster Bay.
Christine O. Lane of Oyster Bay passed away on Sept. 5, 2012 at the age of 104. She was a nurse, then librarian at St. Dominic HS and OBEN Library for over 50 years. Beloved wife of the late Albert D. Dearest mother of Franciscan Brother Julian (Albert F.) Lane, the late Patricia A. (William) McNamara, Byron F. (Patricia A.) Lane, the late John T. Mark John Keating, age 68, of Huntington, NY, died peacefully Sunday, July 8. Cherished father of Ryan, Cindy (Larson), and Kevin, devoted grandfather of Weston and Liam, and beloved brother of Maryann (Maresco), Al (dec,), and John (dec.). Mark served honorably on the Nassau County Police Force for 35 years. An avid golfer, selfless friend, and loyal companion to many, Mark was always in good humor and never passed up an opportunity to share a laugh, often at his own expense.
