Oyster Bay resident Matthew Moskowitz is one of the featured artists at Thursday’s “ARTrageous at the BAR” silent auction and dinner, a charity event sponsored by the Nassau County Bar Association benefiting the WE CARE fund.
“I love to devote projects and energy for events that give back,” says Moskowitz, 37. “The best feeling in the world is to help another person.”
Moskowitz is a professional surrealist painter who shows in gallery exhibitions and sells his work to private and corporate art collectors.
The WE CARE fund represents the charitable arm of the Nassau County Bar Association and has been giving to various charities for the past 25 years. Twice a year, the fund makes grants to groups throughout the county devoted to helping the under served populations of children, the elderly, the sick and the poor.
Some of the grant recipients include the Nassau County Girl Scouts, North Shore Child Guidance, Long Island Council of Churches, Nassau County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Mercy Haven and Interfaith Nutrition Network.
