Michele Browner, RN, BSN 6th Annual Health and Fitness Fair chairperson was presented with a town citation by Councilman Chris Coschignano on March 31 for being a Town of Oyster Bay Woman of Distinction for her community work including that on the annual Health Fair.
The Oyster Bay Chamber of Commerce is beginning to plan their 6th Annual Health and Fitness Fair that will be held on May 16 (with a raindate of May 17). The event will again be held in conjunction with Senator Carl Marcellino. The senator's staff provide signage for the fair, and much publicity sent directly to his constituents telling them about the healthy event.
The health fair is another outreach of the chamber both to the community and to help local business. It appears to us that with the changes in retail - large box stores; shopping by mail; and the variety of specialty boutiques that are a part of today's shopping scene; that the health and service industries are a great fit for the hamlet.
We see the hamlet as a destination for health, fitness and service providers. We see the health fair as a great addition to the business community and the people it serves.
Michele Browner, RN, BSN 6th Annual Health and Fitness Fair Chairperson said in her letter to merchants, "All members are encouraged to participate by being an exhibitor or a sponsor. The ability to promote your business is valuable while providing the community with the message of a healthy lifestyle. Be creative in how you approach this idea with your unique business!"
